At the end of 2011, I left my position of 8½ years as Director, Compliance and Special Projects at a major Washington DC trade association. If you are a science fiction fan – like Dr. Who, I am currently in the process of a career “regeneration.” Unlike Dr. Who, I’m not actually 1,200 years old. However, I am a mid-life, mid-career transitioner, and therein hangs a tale.
You may wonder how someone from Valdosta GA goes to Paris, Tokyo, New York and Washington DC on a sort of professional life’s Tour of World Capitals. The key is that I am first and foremost extremely intellectually curious and a very resourceful problem solver. Working in some of the largest corporations and cities in the world as well as small, niche organizations has given me a breadth and depth of experience that stands out in today’s competitive market.
Whether I’m in a pair of jeans on my family’s farm in Georgia or a business suit on a corporate jet, I am equally comfortable operating at the crossroads of the structured world of regulatory affairs and the more free-wheeling world of arts & entertainment. When I arrived in Washington DC, I knew very little about the regulatory regime in which I quickly became an expert, but I literally wrote the “How To” manual and became the “go to” person in my field.
I’m a highly motivated starter who hits the ground running and carries a very sharp pencil. So come along with me on this 2012: A Job Odyssey. I can assure you a quick return on your investment!
